Indian Museum Recruitment 2026: Apply for Translator, Modeler, Driver and Other Posts

The Indian Museum, Kolkata, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has invited applications for several posts including Library & Information Officer, Chief Modeler, Hindi Translator, Modeler and Driver-cum-Mechanic.

Educational Qualification

Library & Information Officer

Candidates should have a postgraduate qualification or equivalent honours degree in subjects such as Indian History, Anthropology or Art, along with a Diploma in Library Science. Relevant library experience is also required.

Chief Modeler

A degree or diploma in Sculpture Modeling along with relevant professional experience is required.

Hindi Translator

Candidates should have a graduate degree with Hindi and English and relevant translation experience. Knowledge of Bengali and Hindi typing skills may be preferred.

Modeler

Candidates should have passed Class 10 and possess a recognised degree or diploma with specialization in modeling, along with relevant practical experience.

Driver-cum-Mechanic

Candidates should have passed Class 10, hold a valid permanent driving licence and possess knowledge of vehicle operation and minor repairs. Relevant driving experience is required.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit varies by post:

• Library & Information Officer / Chief Modeler: Up to 30 years
• Hindi Translator / Modeler / Driver-cum-Mechanic: Up to 28 years

Age will be calculated as per the conditions mentioned in the recruitment notification.

Salary

Depending on the post, the pay level ranges from approximately:

• ₹25,500 – ₹81,100
• ₹29,200 – ₹92,300
• ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400
