OAVS Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Educational qualifications vary according to the post.

Principal: Candidates must possess a postgraduate degree with at least 45% aggregate marks, a recognised B.Ed qualification and the required teaching or administrative experience specified in the notification.

Post Graduate Teacher (PGT): Applicants generally require a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks, or 45% for eligible reserved categories, along with prescribed professional qualifications where applicable.

Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT): Candidates must have the relevant graduate-level qualifications and recognised teacher-training qualifications. Passing OSSTET, OTET Paper II or CTET Paper II is mandatory for the specified TGT posts.

Art Teacher, PET and Computer Teacher: Applicants must possess the relevant professional or academic qualifications prescribed separately for each position.

Candidates should also check the Odia-language requirement. Applicants who have not passed Odia up to Middle English standard may be permitted to qualify through the prescribed examination within three years of joining.

OAVS Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

The age limit will be calculated as of 1 January 2026.

Upper-age relaxation includes five years for applicable SC, ST, SEBC and women candidates, and ten years for eligible PwD candidates. Additional provisions apply to certain in-service and ex-servicemen applicants.

 

OAVS Application Fees 2026

Applicable bank charges and taxes are additional. Fees are non-refundable and must be paid through the authorised online SBI e-Pay facility.

OAVS Teacher Salary 2026

Selected candidates will receive remuneration according to the Odisha Revised Scales of Pay (ORSP) Rules, 2017.

Dearness Allowance and other admissible benefits will be governed by applicable OAVS rules.

 

OAVS Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection procedure includes a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by an interview and, for certain posts, a performance test.

The CBT contains objective-type questions covering English, Odia, current affairs, reasoning and relevant subject knowledge, with variations according to the post.

• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

• Principal, PGT, TGT and PET: Final merit evaluation includes 70% weightage for the relevant written-test component and 30% for the interview.

• Art Teacher and Computer Teacher: Final evaluation carries 50% written-test weightage, 20% performance-test weightage and 30% interview weightage.

• Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce the required original documents before final appointment.
